HOURS/WORK TIMES

 

Generally 8 Hours Per Day / 260* Days Per Year (July-June)

*257 days for 2024/25 School Year due to three furlough days

 

This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after December 16, 2024.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the organization, administration and supervision of the District’s student transportation system in accordance with federal & state laws and District policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in a position related to school transportation operations in the public or private sector or K-12 school administration certification and experience (building or department level). Completion of the Central Washington University Pupil Transportation Management Training Program or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
  2. Extensive knowledge of all pertinent federal, state and local regulations and laws, policies and procedures.
  3. Valid Washington State driver’s license with a Class B Commercial Driver’s License, (CDL) S&P endorsements and current OSPI driver instructor certification (or ability to obtain).
  4. Understanding of fleet operations and maintenance scheduling practices preferred.
  5. Experience with routing software is strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret road and street maps required.
  6. Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office software and the Google platform, including Google Drive, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in effective supervisory principles and practices.
  8. Proven ability to lead small and large group training sessions and deliver detailed presentations.
  9. Demonstrated ability to effectively schedule, organize, coordinate, and complete assignments.
  10. Demonstrated interpersonal relations, communications and problem solving skills.
  11. Leadership qualities that demonstrate an ability to be innovative, as well as maintain responsible and trusting relationships.
  12. Proven ability to positively participate in a fast-paced team environment.
  13. History of positive attitude, initiative, communication, responsibility, and leadership that contribute to a productive and positive work culture among your assigned staff.
  14. Successfully handles changes in assignments and functions effectively with a demanding workload.
  15. Demonstrated confidentiality, loyalty, and integrity.
  16. Ability to work extended hours and days when needed.
  17. Work hours are generally 40 per week during the day Monday through Friday though circumstances and department needs may require early morning, evening, late night, weekend, and holidays.
  18. Excellent attendance required.
