4.75 Hours Per Day (9:05 a.m. - 2:10 p.m. includes 20 minutes unpaid time) Regular Days
3.08 Hours Per Day (8:45 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.) Early Release Days
190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 holidays)
A valid First Aid/CPR card must be submitted to Classified Personnel within 45 days of hire. Only courses with a "hands-on" component taught by a certified instructor are acceptable.
This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 12/13/24.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the building Principal, the Playground Monitor is responsible for supervision of students on the playground and surrounding areas and/or in the cafeteria so that the safety and well being of all students is guaranteed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Supervise and monitor students on the playground and surrounding areas until they return to their respective classroom(s), keeping students out of hallways, away from parking lots, bike racks, and other areas that are considered unsafe.
- Establish and maintain a safe and cooperative attitude on the playground.
- Understand and enforce the playground rules and procedures.
- Carry out discipline procedures as defined by the building principal.
- Record any student behavior that is not acceptable and/or appropriate.
- Identify unsafe playground equipment and submit a written report to the building principal outlining specifics problem(s).
- Submit a written report of all playground injuries to the building principal as soon as they occur.
- Perform first aid/CPR when necessary.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform cafeteria monitor duties when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY:
Clipboard, whistle, pens/pencils, gloves, and all other tools and equipment necessary to perform the essential functions as listed above.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply techniques in working with students in the area of behavior management.
- Must possess current First Aid/CPR certification, or be able to acquire within 30 days.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
