Essential Functions:
- Assist with recruitment, application, selection, and assignment processes, in compliance with Affirmative Action Plan.
- Monitors and assists with endorsements and certifications, including EDS reporting requirements.
- Administer provisions of the collective bargaining agreements with the Evergreen Education Association, Public School Employees of Evergreen PSE and Public School Employees of Evergreen Office-Clerical.
- Manage evaluation processes and procedures and assists administrators when they move an employee onto a Plan of Improvement or Probation.
- Serve as a liaison with employee associations and union leadership.
- Assist with negotiations.
- Process grievances.
- Investigate complaints of employee misconduct.
- Assist in supervision of Human Resources, Payroll/Benefits, Risk Management, Substitute Office, Nutrition Services and Transportation department staff.
- Assists with staffing for the district.
- Implement District policies and procedure.
- Collaborate with 504 manager to resolve ADA and 504 issues and coordinate Section 504 investigations.
- Investigate Civil Rights complaints and ensure Civil Rights compliance within District, including reporting requirements.
- Support Title IX compliance.
- Provide and coordinate assistance for administrators on legal or collective bargaining agreement issues.
- Provide training and support for administrators on evaluations, including tracking and following up on performance concerns.
- Maintain relationships and agreements with university partners to coordinate student teacher placement.
- Partner with Teaching and Learning to coordinate BEST grant and support new teachers.
- Ensure compliance with required trainings for district employees through tracking and following-up with supervisors.
- Monitor background checks for employees and volunteers.
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
- Supports district initiatives on equity.
- Collaborate and problem-solve with other district leaders and building administrators.
- Participates as a member of the District Leadership Team and Extended Cabinet.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Administration or Education.
- Minimum of three years of successful experience in Human Resources administration, preferably in a public school system, or successful experience as a principal.
- Successful completion of a Washington State Patrol background check.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative problem solving and promote consensus with groups having diverse perspectives and interests.
- Must have regular, consistent attendance.
- Demonstrated skill in interpersonal relations, supervision, and ability to work in a team environment.
- A strong working knowledge of Washington School law.
- Demonstrated skill in personnel selection and labor relations.
- A clear understanding of teacher evaluation processes and procedures, as well as an understanding of Washington state law as it applies to teacher evaluations.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
